  8. Postcode+ lists up-to-date postcodes for Australian cities or towns viewed 
  9. nationally or by state. It enables you to quickly determine the postcode 
  10. for a given locality. Additionally, you can identify the localities 
  11. associated with a specified postcode. Over 8000 entries are included in the 
  12. database in a compressed format. Regular database updates are available for 
  13. download by registered users.

  15. Included is Address+, an optional replacement for the built-in Address 
  16. application. This allows look up of postcodes directly from Edit view.
  17.  
  18. Postcode+ supports all Palm Computing« Connected Organizer devices running 
  19. Palm OS 3.0 (or later). This includes Palm (III, IIIe, IIIx, V, Vx, VII), 
  20. Handspring Visor, IBM WorkPad, Qualcomm pdQ, Symbol SPT, TRGpro and similar 
  21. devices. Though not supported, it may also run on the PalmPilot 
  22. Professional.

  24. The amount of free storage required for Postcode+ is 88KB.

  27. INSTALLATION

  29. To install the software, select the following files with the Palm Install 
  30. Tool to queue the application and database for installation on the next 
  31. HotSync:

  33.    PostcodePlus.prc   -  Postcode+ application
  34.    PostcodePlus.pdb   -  Postcode+ database
  35.  
  36. and optionally ONE of:
  37.  
  38.    AddressPlusV20.prc  - Address+ application (Palm OS 2.0)
  39.    AddressPlusV31.prc  - Address+ application (Palm OS 3.0 to 3.3)
  40.    AddressPlusV35.prc  - Address+ application (Palm OS 3.5 and later)

  42. The application and database will be automatically backed up on your 
  43. computer on a successive HotSync.

  46. OPERATION
  47.  
  48. Postcode+ has been designed to be fully self supporting on your device. For 
  49. an outline of its operation, tap the Menu silk-screened button and select 
  50. Help from the Options menu. For help on dialogs, tap the small i 
  51. (information) at top right of each dialog.
  52.  
  53. Address+ is based on the built-in Address application and shares its data 
  54. and preferences. The only change is the addition of the Postcode+ Lookup 
  55. item to the Options menu in Edit view. Selecting this takes the partially 
  56. completed contents of the City, State and/or PostCode fields and invokes 
  57. Postcode+ Lookup. Tapping Add in Postcode+ Lookup will then complete these 
  58. fields with contents from the selected entry. Address+ can be associated 
  59. with the Address key (with the Prefs application) if desired. Deleting 
  60. Address+ will not remove any existing data.

  62. Installation of Address+ is optional. When using the built-in Address 
  63. application, enter the city name and select it then tap the Find silk-
  64. screened button. When the corresponding entry is displayed, tap Cancel and 
  65. manually enter the found state and postcode in the appropriate fields.

  68. REGISTRATION

  70. Postcode+ is shareware. You may use this software for a period of up to 14 
  71. days from installation for evaluation purposes. If you find the program 
  72. useful and continue to use it, you are required to register (pay for it).

  81. You'll need to provide your device's HotSync/User name when you register. 
  82. This is the name you chose for your device when the Palm Desktop software 
  83. was installed. If you've forgotten what this name was, it is displayed in 
  84. the top right corner of the device display at the completion of a HotSync 
  85. operation. It is also displayed in the Name field of the Postcode+ 
  86. Registration dialog.

  88. On registration, you'll receive a personal license code that will cause the 
  89. banner to be no longer displayed and enable you to continue using the 
  90. software after the evaluation period. You'll also be entitled to download 
  91. future versions of the software and regular database updates.

  94. FLASHPRO COMPATIBILITY
  95.  
  96. If you have FlashPro installed, you can reclaim storage by moving all 
  97. provided files (applications and database) to flash memory.

  100. THIRD PARTY COMPATIBILITY
  101.  
  102. If you experience problems running Postcode+ and have HackMaster or 
  103. replacement application launchers installed, first disable these to 
  104. determine the cause of the error. Such hacks and launchers may modify the 
  105. operating environment of your device. If you find an incompatibility, 
  106. please report this to the author of the hack/launcher.

  109. YEAR 2000 COMPLIANCE
  110.  
  111. Postcode+ is Year 2000 compliant. The operating date range of this software 
  112. is January 1, 1904 to December 31, 2031 inclusive.

  121. If you experience errors, first check that your unzip utility has not
  122. corrupted the database (.pdb file) by translating line end characters. The
  123. Macintosh ZipIt utility is a common offender!
